Faith

There are different types of Faith; different ways to arrive at Faith.

Crisis Faith is when there is no where else to turn, our last chance with no solution; completely helpless.

“Therefore He came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a royal official [*a king’s man, wealthy] whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him (*roughly 25 miles and climbing 1400 feet) and was imploring (*desperate, begging) Him to come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death. So Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you simply will not believe.” The royal official *said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” Jesus *said to him, “Go; your son lives.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started off. As he was now going down, his slaves met him, saying that his son was living. So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. Then they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.” So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives”; and he himself believed and his whole household. This is again a second sign that Jesus performed when He had come out of Judea into Galilee.” John 4:46‭-‬54 NASB1995

Crisis Faith becomes Confident Faith – Jesus says “Go”, and the man believes, based on the word of the WORD (Jesus). Faith is not logical or illogical, it is theological. The man knew his son was healed.

Confident Faith becomes Confirmed Faith. The man’s servants confirmed it as he was headed home.

Just as I haven’t seen germs, I haven’t seen Jesus, but I believe in them both! That is Faith. I have Confirmed Faith in both.

The speed of sound is 761 mph. I hear things must sooner than I see them. As Christians, we HEAR what God tells us, THEN we see the results. Is our faith weak and insecure so that we require a sign, a miracle with a message, before we believe? The biggest room in our lives should be the room for improvement.

“Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing.” John 2:23 NASB1995 [https://bible.com/bible/100/jhn.2.23.NASB1995]

Many of the Jews who were in Jerusalem believed because of His signs. In contrast, the Samaritans came to Jesus for their sins, because they heard, not because of what they saw.

From that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all the things that I have done.” and they were saying to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world.” John 4:39‭, ‬42 NASB1995

If you have had a crisis that caused you to turn to Him, Thank God for the crisis that brought you to your knees and to Him!

Is your faith contagious? Are people in “danger” of catching it from you? To increase faith, exercise faith. Trust builds trust.

“How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!” However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” Romans 10:14-17 NASB1995 [https://bible.com/bible/100/rom.10.14-17.NASB1995]
