He is Faithful

We need to be teaching this in school – no matter what a person chooses to believe, these verses hold truth for every person.

“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.  And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?  And if you are not faithful with other people’s things, why should you be trusted with things of your own?” – Luke 16:10‭-‬12 NLT
To put it bluntly:

If you say you will do a thing, DO IT. No promises or swearing to it are necessary. Be faithful to your word. It seems to me that everything else stems from that. If your word is good, then you will be honest, and others will trust you with their friendship, their things, even their lives.

God is faithful to us, all of the time. Why can’t we follow that example?

Looking at the news, it seems that every newscast includes a child molester, people being robbed, and disrespectful treatment of those in authority. I mean, an EMT was shot while treating an injured person…. here’s a person caring for someone who is hurting, and some jerk takes a shot at them? Jesus, please come back soon! How much worse is the world going to get before we are rescued?? Jude and the Apostles warned us:

“…. They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires.” – Jude 1:18 NLT

If this statement to the church was true just years after Jesus lived among us here on earth, it is exponentially true now! I am guilty – oh, so guilty – of putting my human desires over God’s. I am so unworthy to be called a child of the King, yet He has welcomed me into His arms and He comforts me. I am secure in my salvation, but I am still human and susceptible to the lures the enemy puts in front of me. This is our job today as followers of Christ, to support and build up each other, being careful not to fall into temptation ourselves.

“But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the Power of the Holy Spirit,  and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who will bring you Eternal Life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s Love. And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.” – Jude 1:20‭-‬23 NLT

GOD IS FAITHFUL.

“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” – 1 John 1:9 NLT

This is my prayer today and every day:

“Now ALL GLORY to GOD, Who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into His Glorious Presence without a single fault. All glory to Him Who ALONE is GOD, our Savior through Jesus Christ our LORD. All Glory, Majesty, Power, and Authority are His before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.” – Jude 1:24‭-‬25 NLT

AMEN.
