We are called to share the Gospel, that is, JESUS, with the world. As Christians, we are called to peace.
“And let the Peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.” Colossians 3:15
This isn’t saying we should sit back and passively allow others to mistreat us in any way. This peace comes from inside, and when we have it, we can show it on the outside. I don’t always show it! In fact, I sometimes act as if I don’t have any peace at all. But if I will take a moment and have a little 911 call with Jesus, I can regain my peace and hopefully it shows to others.
Jesus isn’t just for Protestants and Catholics. Jesus is for EVERYONE. Jew, Hindu, Muslim, atheist or agnostic; red, yellow, black, or white…. He loves each and every one of us the same. I don’t have a problem with that. We are all one race – the human race – and we all descended from the same common ancestors.
It’s the “always be thankful” part I have trouble with. When I’m physically in pain, I don’t feel thankful. When my heart hurts, I’m definitely not thankful. When I’m stressed out and worried about my circumstances, I’m not being very thankful. When things don’t work the way I think they should, I’m not being thankful. I just described the majority of my life, so it’s pretty obvious I’m not always thankful.
